What are electronic signatures and why would I want to use them?

Electronic signatures are most commonly used for two reasons:

1. Signatures are required by predicate rules.

2. Electronic signatures are used to protect data on a spreadsheet. Once a spreadsheet has an electronic signature applied, data cannot be changed on the spreadsheet without removing the electronic signature.
